Golf Information

When we came to Bandon in 2008, they had three courses, so we played Pacific Dunes, Bandon Trails, and Bandon Dunes twice. Now the resort has FIVE full golf courses - we can't even play them all in a four round "event" - plus the best par-3 course in the world!

Therefore, we selected four courses to play. Other courses are a bit ad hoc and we'll see who wants to try for walk-on tee times.

Details About Handicaps

As we have continued to talk about handicap management, things have gotten better and better. We encourage everyone to have an official USGA handicap. For most members, we are recommending one of two methods to receive a handicap:

1) Simply maintain your USGA/GHIN handicap through your local club.

2) Enroll in Myscorecard.com online USGA compliant handicap service.

To see how Myscorecard works, go to the link, select the menu option "Handicap Lookup", and search for the user name trevere to see Trever's current USGA index.

If you decide to use this, let the handicap committee know so we can properly monitor your handicap.

Travel Instructions

Arrival = Tuesday, July 23

This is a day earlier than our "traditional" Wednesday arrival. The most logial airports to fly into is Portland, as transportation can be provided by people leaving (or driving through) Portland late-morning. (A group may decide to fly into Eugene or Portland and rent a car, too.) Again, for Portland it would would be great to have morning arrival times, and the goal would be to arrive at our lodging around 4:00 in the afternoon.

Departure = Sunday, July 28

As we are staying in a house, we will clean and pack leisurely this morning, and we will have an 11:00am checkout time. Drive time from Bandon to Portland is 4.5 hours, from Bandon to Eugene is 2.5 hours, so plan your flight times based on this information.

Proposed Full Itinerary

July 23

Fly into Portland 10:00-12:00

Arrive and move into lodging 4:00-6:00pm

Optional time see the resort, hit the practice facility

Biennial Club Meeting: McKees Pub or Foley's Irish Pub

July 24

Go to resort ~9:00; Time at the practice facility

WGA Open Round 1: Pacific Dunes, 11:10am

Putting Competition: The Punch Bowl (afternoon)

Dinner: In house dinner, beverages, and poker night
