Founders adopt Western Golf Alliance charter and bylaws
Organization establishes formal structure in compliance with USGA standards

LAS VEGAS.  Taking a huge step toward establishing itself as an official golf organization, the Western Golf Alliance today announced its founders completed and approved a charter and bylaws for the organization. This is the first major requirement for complying with United States Golf Association standards for establishing an official golf club.

"Simply stated, this makes it official, the Western Golf Alliance is a regional golf club," pronounced Brian Gray, WGA president, speaking from The Treasure Island Casino where the WGA Board of Directors is holding its annual winter meeting. "This is the next step in establishing the grand vision we have of creating one of the greatest regional golf organizations on the west coast."

With the adoption of the charter and bylaws, the WGA officially sanctioned its name. Other key standards established within the bylaws include the following:

-- The governance structure of the organization is established, including the Board of Directors,
   officers, and committee structures.

-- The business structure of the organization is also established, including officer and director
responsibilities, meeting procedures, and the fiscal calendar of the club.

-- The structure, format, and dates for the Western Golf Alliance Open are now defined.

-- Procedures for receiving and accepting new members are now formalized.

"We expect this step to open the door to continued growth and expansion of the Western Golf Alliance, and to aid us in establishing our official standing with the USGA," concluded Gray.
