2 - Talking Stick Resort / Talking Stick Golf Club

In the heart of Scottsdale, Talking Stick has long been a golf destination serious golfers know about. It is a resort that attracks great entertainment in the Valley of Sun, and delivers a substantial casino environment. In August 2018, however, the property secumbed to a major monsoon, suffering significiant water damage. The resulting closure was a blessing in disguise. While electrical repairs extended from a few days to almost two months, resort management chose to take the time to upgrade and refresh specific elements of the hotel and casino. As a result, Talking Stick was the most significant tribal casino in the western U.S. to undergo a significant improvement.

The golf club features two interesting courses, both of which are outstanding designs by Coore/Crenshaw, the team that produced Kapalua Plantation, Bandon Trails, and Cabot Cliffs. The courses have tees ranging from 5,300 to 7,100 yards, yet both are very user friendly with no "slope" over 127. In addition, next door is the local Topgolf range, the ideal place for a group to show off some skills - definitely with a little betting action and a few adult beverages - for the perfect off-course activity.

With a great resort, strong casino, and another several dozen more nearby world-class courses to choose from too, Talking Stick can be the hub of a major golfing trip, to standalone location for a weekend getaway, or the memorable destination for any kind of buddy trip in between.
